Switch your WordPress website from HTTP to  HTTPS:

To switch your WordPress website from HTTP to HTTPS, apply the following:

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard
  2. Go to Settings ⇒ General
  3. Change http to https in “WordPress Address (URL)” and “Site Address (URL)”. Check the following image for reference.
  4. The next step is to configure your hosting so that visitors to your website over http are automatically redirected to use https, You can do this by following the steps in this article.
  5. Next, add the following code above the “That’s all, stop editing!” line in your wp-config.php file:
    define('FORCE_SSL_ADMIN', true);
    define('FORCE_SSL_LOGIN', true);

After you finish these steps, you can test your website. If you get the exclamation mark instead of the green lock icon, this might be caused by “mixed content”. You can check this article in order to help you fixing it.
