Step 1 : Add your IMAP account
1.Select the File menu and choose Info.
3.Choose Manual setup or additional server types.
5.Choose POP or IMAP.
7.On the “POP and IMAP Account Settings” page, enter your account settings:
Email Address: enter your complete email address.
Account Type : IMAP.
Incoming Mail Server : mail.yourdomain.com.
Outgoing Mail Server : mail.yourdomain.com.
User Name : enter your complete email address.
Password : enter your email password .
8.Click the More Settings button.
9.Click the Outgoing Server tab.
10.Select the option “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication”.
11.Make sure that it is using the same settings as your incoming mail server.
12.Click on Advanced tab.
- In the ‘Incoming server’ section, make sure that:
- ‘Use the following type of encrypted connection’ is SSL.
- ‘Incoming server (IMAP)‘ port field is set to ‘993’.
- In the ‘Outgoing server’ section, make sure that:
- ‘Use the following type of encrypted connection’ is SSL
- ‘Outgoing server (SMTP)‘ port field is set to ‘465’.
15.If you’ve entered everything correctly, both tasks will be completed successfully and you can close the window and again click Next.
16.Click the Finish button.
Step 2 : Move messages from POP to IMAP account folders
1.You can move your old POP3 E-mail messages or folders to the new IMAP account , simply select them and move them to your IMAP account by dragging and dropping. Depending on the number of messages that you move, it may take several minutes to be uploaded.
2.Now the messages will upload to the server where they will be available to all your computers connected to this account.
Step 3 : Remove your POP account
1.Select the File menu and choose Info, Click Account settings below, then Account settings once again.
2.Select your pop account that you want to remove, and then click Remove.
3.To confirm removal of the account, click Yes.
4.Now pop account will no longer receive any new E-mail.
5.Right click on your pop Account , then click close.
6.You’re done, and you can now start sending and receiving emails.
