What is a domain transfer?
A domain transfer refers to the process of changing the designated registrar of a domain name. Once a transfer has been made, the new registrar will maintain all relevant information regarding the domain and the registrant. Domain names may be transferred only if they have been registered with the previous registrar for 60 days or more .
You can transfer a domain name into your account by following these steps:
- Login to your Client Area account, then click on Domains > Transfer Domain to Us.
- Enter the domain name that you would like to transfer and authorization code, then click on Add to Cart.
An Authorization code or EPP code is an authorization key provided by your old registrar and required by your new registrar to complete a registration transfer for a domain name. You must contact your current registrar and request the domain’s Authorization Code (also referred to as an auth code,or an EPP code).
- Follow the order wizard to complete the payment and order process. After you transferred the domain into your account, it will be renewed for 1 year (included in the transfer fee).
