Zimbra Desktop is an offline client that lets you manage multiple email accounts – including your zPersonal/zBusiness account email, contacts, calendar and documents in one easy to manage desktop client. Your Zimbra account, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, AOL, Microsoft Exchange and any other work or personal email account using POP or IMAP is easy to set up in Zimbra Desktop. Each account is separately maintained.

Requirements

  • Windows Vista/7/8.
  • At least 200MB free disk space is required to install the software. Additional disk space is required to download mailbox data.
  • At least 512MB free memory is required — and 1GB or more is recommended to run Zimbra Desktop.

Select windows Version

After download run downloaded file and execute it.

1 -Run the setup. Click on Next

2 – Accept the agreement and click on Next

3 – Click on Next, Mark the check box  to create a desktop icon and click on Next

4- Click install

5- Accept Software installation UAC.

6- installation process will start.

7- choose launch zimbra desktop and click finish.

8- Zimbra will initialized and launched.

Setting up Zimbra Desktop

  1. Open Zimbra Desktop
  2. Choose Zimbra from the list of Account Type

In the Add New Account window, enter the details of your account. If you are setting up a Zimbra account, use the following settings:

Account Type: Zimbra
Account Name: Your Name
Email Address: myname@domain.com
Password: Your account password
Incoming Mail Server: zimbraX.server.ly “You’ll receive the right server name in “Welcome Email”
Security: Check SSL for this option. This should change your Port to 443
Check Messages: Select how often Zimbra Desktop will check for new mail in this account (every x minutes, hours, etc.)
Mail Sync: Select Sync all messages if you want all messages from your account to download.

Once you have entered your settings, click ‘Validate and Save’. The My Accounts screen will confirm your account has been setup. Click ‘Add New Account’ to add additional email accounts in Zimbra Desktop. Click ‘Launch Desktop’ when finished:

Once Zimbra Desktop has been launched, it will start downloading your account information from the server.

Note that the first sync may take up to several hours to sync, depending on how much information is downloaded to your account.
